World Hunger.

Hunger exists in the world due to the reason of poverty. The root cause of poverty is powerless and uses the titled question as an approach to the solution by connecting communities to resources, while providing immediate access to nutritious emergency food. Why there is hunger in the world and how can we solve it? Here are few things that we can do to tackle the root causes of hunger and support long-term solutions at home and abroad.

First of all, protect the land, seeds and water in our nation. Communities around the world lose millions of acres of farmland every year through land grabs by governments and corporations. The world’s precious supply of fresh water is increasingly being privatized. Therefore, a lot of the world’s agro biodiversity is threatened as corporations’ patent life forms and increasingly control the world’s seed supply. We should join a local or national preservation organization that works to protect these natural resources by boycott bottled water besides joining the local land trust campaign to protect farmland and support seed saving.

Secondly, we should support and encourage universal free nutritious school meals that educate children to behave better when they are well fed. Millions of children are hungry and a large numbers of them are suffering from diet related diseases such as obesity and diabetes. Thus, write a letter to our school district’s food service director and speak at school board members meetings regarding this issue that required serious monitoring. Every public school is mandated to have a ‘Wellness Policy’ that organized by parents, teachers and students to implement the policies regarding good eating mannerisms within student-self.

Thirdly, transform the emergency food system and dismantle racism in the food system. We have the most extensive emergency food system in the world, but it can meet only a small fraction of the needs of hungry people. The donated food usually comes from corporations and can often be highly processed and non-nutritious. It is often people of color who lose their land due to unfair loan requirements and denial of credit as well as unfair prices for farm products are also often not covered by fair labor laws and hiring practices. Communities of color face higher rates of diet related health problems due to disparities in healthy food access.

Finally, create healthy food hubs since there are hundreds of urban and rural areas of the country that do not have easy access to good food, referred to as food deserts. In rural areas people have to drive several miles to the nearest grocery store or supermarket and in some urban areas there may not be public transportation to a food store and only fast food is available in the neighborhood. Thus, investing in local and regional food systems, the farmers are engaging in direct marketing, local food processing and distribution at local markets and creating healthy food hubs. Therefore, we are courage to join folks who are growing food in their backyards, roofs and community gardens besides purchasing food from local farmers markets and stores.

CELEBRATING FREEDOM DAY !!

Patriotism is kind of strong passion which inspires one to serve one country. As one part from the society in Malaysia, we should always show our loyalty and gratitude to our nation. However, in Malaysia, does a person really love or respect our country? Based on the facts in Malaysia, it has been proved via newspapers and television news broadcasts have been full of calls by government ministers and officials for greater patriotism in the country. Malaysians seem do not love our Malaysia enough and regarding this important as well as serious issue, there are certain parties playing main roles to overcome it.

First and foremost, government always plays the most vital and idle part to handle this problem. Government will choose randomly to decide which citizen above 18 years old who are going to undergo the three months service called ‘National Service’ course. Through this program, the generation will have the opportunity to mix with different generation which came from vary races, religious and culture background. By going through the National Service course, the young citizens will have a better and deeper knowledge and eventually they will respect others people customs. Thus by respecting the uniqueness of every culture, this helps us promote racial solidarity and enhance national unity among youngsters.

Secondly, schools are always said to be the second home for pupils. Therefore, school must do something in order to promote the spirit of patriotism among Malaysian generation. For example, schools can organize certain camping's or campaigns which help to improve the self-conscious among students relating to the importance of showing patriotism to their country. Besides that, school must ensure that there will be a singing session for national anthem called ‘Negaraku’ during assembly. Although it was a simple action, however it would be a great way to show our devotion to Malaysia. During few weeks before the National Day, school can take the chance to hold several activities, such as drawing ‘Jalur Gemilang’ competition, class decoration with the topic of patriotism, patriotic essay writing competition and so on.

Last but not least, parents’ responsibilities on this issue are the most important. Parents were the one who have the biggest affect to their children as they have the most time to spend them. Therefore, parents should teach their children about the concept of patriotism and accompany them to practice it since they were young. Take for example, they can send their children to 'Sekolah Wawasan' or 'Vision Schools' where they can mix with all races, join multiracial community activities and others. Hence, by educating the young on patriotism, we are ensuring that national unity will continue to exist in the future. In a nutshell, our country will be more prosperous if everyone of us are willing to play an active role to be more patriotism.

Oh, My English!!!

English has got its place as the most general language for the International Business world. People of all places must speak English to mingle with English-speaking environments and be successful.

To improve my English first, I will learn the basic reading and listening abilities of English. This helps enhance my basic understanding over the language. By spending at least an hour every day, listening to news or discussion programs will gradually get me used to the speed and tone of what they are talking about. It's best to spend twenty to thirty minutes on listening separately.

Well reading on English news or articles for few hours every day, builds up vocabulary, idioms, phrases, and grammar of English structures. With enough reading, I can save a lot of time since I will not need to spend more time on building my vocabulary or grammar. Reading out loud when I doing my reading is a way to improve my pronunciation and helps me to pronounce correctly. I will use English-English dictionary from my smart phone wherever I go. If I find some words that unfamiliar to me, I will always check them up in my smart phone immediately.
Besides, I will start to think in English. This will help me to get used to using English and will make it easier to listen and react with spontaneously. Other than that i will join any web groups or clubs where I can post questions and freely discuss them with other more talented members.

The activity that I most love when it comes to English language is the Dictation. Dictation is defined as the action of saying words aloud to be typed, or written down. It’s a fun activity to be carried out with my friends and an excellent way to improve my listening and spelling skills. The more fun way is to listen from our favorite English movies or drama such as Twilight or Glee, then write down what we heard. Have a friend read a few paragraphs from a book, a newspaper or even more fun from my favorite movies, then write down what you think you hear. Compare what you have written with the actual text. This activity tends go more get fun when a gang of friends involved.

UNIQUE MYTH - LEFT-HANDED AND ITS NEGATIVE MYTHS

Myth is everywhere in this world. People tend to believe in myth before understanding the reality behind certain things and look it in a scientific way.
Everything takes time to think in logical way, human often prefer believing the myths and superstitious way before switching their thinking skills in upper level, to the truth.

The one of unique myth i discovered was myth about left-handed. Ridiculous i can say. The most major negative superstitious believe was left-handed themed bad luck and evil, devil worshiping madness. The devil was linked with left-handed for centuries. For example, in 1431 Joan Arc was found guilty of being witch and burned at the stake. The depictions showing her as a left-handed, makes her appear more evil in the eye of the people.

Besides, the myth also states that left-handed people are clumsy and awkward especially in using simple tools. The fact is all the tools are designed for the comforts of right-handed community. Thus, left-handed people undergo difficulties to these adaptations.

Thirdly, the myth said that the life expectancy of left-handed people is less than right handed people. But soon research busted this myth that there is no concrete evidence to support this major difference in life expectancy. But they are more prompt to stomach diseases only.

In society especially the tradition followers will see these left-handed habits as a bad omen. To them, holding or giving something with left hand signed bad omen and bad luck. Especially in events that is auspicious.

The reality is there is no such thing as devil traits or bad omen, it’s just in most cases genetic factors plays a big roles. Moreover, exposure to higher level of testosterone to the fetus also could be the factors. It’s not handicap, rather it’s a preference order to comfort .Actually they are more talented. For left-handed people their right brain is controlling their act more. Well right hemisphere of brain is well known for artistic function, such as music, art, perception and such others creative modes.

Well the thing is it’s interesting. This is because here imagination and deep prediction plays a big role. Think in a positive way, ancient people really had twisted their brain to figure out and of course to create such amazing myths until it’s brought upon till this century. Fascinating it seems, but do not believe all the myths blindly especially when comes to offensive to people.
